Anti-mosquito trap to prevent the reproduction of the tiger mosquito

The BG-GAT (Gravid Aedes Trap) is an economical, non-electric and very easy to use mosquito trap. It is specifically intended to reduce the tiger mosquito population in your garden. Tiger mosquitoes include the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) and the yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypti). These species are diurnal, very aggressive and can transmit diseases such as dengue fever, Zika and chikungunya. Tiger mosquitoes are found mainly in the tropical and subtropical areas of the world, the Asian tiger mosquito also in the Mediterranean region and occasionally in Germany.
To block the next generation of tiger mosquitoes

Compared to the BG-Mosquitaire, the BG-GAT aims to capture the tiger mosquito at a different stage: those that have already bitten and are looking for a place to lay their eggs. Since the number of these mosquitoes is lower, compared to the quantity of mosquitoes looking for prey, it is natural that the BG-GAT catches fewer mosquitoes than the BG-Mosquitaire. It is important to eliminate mosquitoes that have already bitten from the population. These are precisely what the BG-GAT aims to achieve. Capturing these female mosquitoes leads to the elimination of 50–100 specimens of the next generation.
Principle of operation

Female Asian tiger mosquitoes and yellow fever mosquitoes are attracted to water and other stimuli for oviposition. The mosquitoes enter the BG-GAT, pass through the black funnel and find themselves in the transparent chamber. Once they enter the room, the mosquitoes will try to escape through the transparent windows where, however, they will be captured because they are exposed to the adhesive sheet. The grate forms a barrier between mosquitoes and the water in the lower chamber. The adhesive sheet in the transparent chamber will kill mosquitoes.
