Why do mosquitoes fall in love with our traps?

Human skin odors are important factors affecting mosquitoes seeking prey and a blood meal. BG-Sweetscent is a unique artificial odor that imitates human skin odors. Furthermore, it makes our traps very specific and attractive for the tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) and the yellow fever mosquito Aedes aegypti).

It aims to capture female mosquitoes in search of prey and therefore prevent them from biting you.

The sachet contains a patented formulation developed by Biogents based on lactic acid and similar to human skin.

The dispenser is placed inside the trap. One BG-Sweetscent sachet is effective for two months. The BG-Sweetscent must be used together with the BG-Mosquitaire (+/- CO2) or other traps that attract mosquitoes in search of prey (unlike the BG-GAT trap).

The patented formulation is the result of 16 years of academic research on host-seeking behavior by mosquitoes at the Zoological Department of the University of Regensburg, Germany. The particular light and permeable dispenser of the BG-Sweetscent guarantees an effective release of the perfume.
