Two strategies against the tiger mosquito for outdoor spaces

The combination of the highly effective BG-Mosquitaire trap with the passive BG-GAT trap optimizes the control of tiger mosquitoes (Asian tiger mosquito and Yellow fever mosquito) in the outdoor area. The tiger mosquito is mainly present in the tropical and subtropical areas of the world, the Asian tiger mosquito also in the Mediterranean area and occasionally now also in Germany.

While the BG-Mosquitaire targets the tiger mosquito that is looking for a blood meal and is ready to bite you, the BG-GAT targets the capture of the tiger mosquito looking for a place to lay its eggs. Catching a mosquito ready to lay eggs can mean 50-100 fewer specimens of the next generation. Furthermore, the risk of diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, carriers of viruses, is reduced.





The Biogentes Mosquitaire trap has been specifically designed for the fight against tiger mosquitoes. Tiger mosquitoes include the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) and the yellow fever or dengue mosquito (Aedes aegypti). These mosquito species are diurnal, very aggressive and can transmit diseases such as dengue fever, Zika and chikungunya. The tiger mosquito is found mainly in the tropical and subtropical areas of the world, the Asian tiger mosquito also in the Mediterranean region.

Biogenst is a robust trap made of plastic, and was developed for outdoor use and is used worldwide in the fight against mosquitoes. If positioned near the resting and breeding places of mosquitoes, the trap manages to capture mosquitoes before they reach the terraces and places where we usually stop and eat.

The effectiveness of Biogents -Mosquitaire is based on the patented Biogents capture system. Unlike other species, the tiger mosquito, active during the day, can be caught even without carbon dioxide (CO2). Our odorous substance BG-Sweetscent, when combined with the attractive stimuli of the trap, is sufficiently effective in itself. However the capture rate can be significantly improved by adding carbon dioxide BG-Mosquitaire CO2.

The trap covers an area of ​​approximately 100m2, depending on certain factors such as the size of the mosquito population, breeding and resting places, vegetation, climate, surroundings etc.
The right positioning for an optimal effect

If the trap is placed in the right place and works continuously throughout the season, the mosquito population will be reduced and also kept low, so that you can enjoy your terrace in a relaxed way again. In order for the trap to work ideally, the following factors must be considered:


 Outdoor placement only
 Shaded and wind-sheltered places
 Near nesting sites, in humid places
 Continuous operation time (24 hours for several weeks)
 Use at the beginning of the year (starting from around 15° C outside temperature)
